A change of residence is not a custom purchase.
The benefit is associated with the effective transfer of residence and your own vehicle. The AT indicates minimum periods of six months for previous residence and vehicle ownership, among other requirements. A last minute purchase is not automatically covered.
Make a chronology before moving forward.
Gather the dates of residence abroad, acquisition, moving and entry of the vehicle into Portugal. Confirm deadlines, required proof and restrictions after the benefit is recognized with the AT.
Returning to Portugal does not exempt you from analyzing other taxes, documentation and registration. Please confirm the situation before deciding on transportation.
